Erik and Cooze start college and pledge the Beta House fraternity, presided over by none other than legendary Dwight Stifler.
“American Pie Presents: Beta House” (originally titled “Beta House”) brings back the crass antics of the “American Pie” franchise, this time focusing on Erik and Cooze’s freshman year antics at college. Pledging the notorious Beta House, they find themselves under the, ahem, “leadership” of the infamous Dwight Stifler.
Expect plenty of gross-out humor, sexual situations, and outrageous fraternity hijinks. The plot is thin, existing mainly to string together these outrageous set pieces. If that’s what you’re looking for, “Beta House” delivers. The returning Stifler (John White) adds a familiar jolt of comedic energy, although it can feel like a retread at times.
This movie isn’t for everyone. It pushes boundaries with its humor, which can be crude and offensive. But fans of the “American Pie” franchise will likely find some amusement in the familiar territory.
**Recommendation:** Strictly for fans of the “American Pie” brand of humor who don’t mind a predictable plot and outrageous gags.
